Zarrinkoub Commemorated

TEHRAN--Yesterday was the third death anniversary of the Iranian writer and instructor of Islamic and Iranian culture, history and literature Abdolhossein Zarrinkoub.

He was born in 1922 in Boroujerd. He got his BA from the Tehran's Literature Faculty in 1948 and his Ph.D from Tehran University in 1955.

After 1962 he began his career as an instructor and taught in Tehran, India, Pakistan, Oxford, Sorbonne and Princeton universities. He wrote valuable notes on literary criticism, history and nations science.

In the recent years of his life he spent his time mostly on reading, research and teaching in the fields of mysticism, religions and history and wrote tens of books and essays.

His first book is the Two-Century Silence that studies the historical situation of Iran during the first two centuries of Islam.

History in Scale, History of Iranians, Step by Step Toward God, Iran's History in Post-Islam Era are among his most important works.
